Stop looking for dash cams. This is exactly what you need.
So I've been searching for dash cam for a long time, a local dealer tried to sell me one for 200 bucks plus installation fee, I was kind of hesitant and asked around for any recommendation, my friend recommended me this one and said he's been using this for several weeks and liked it.The price was okay since most of the dash cams I looked at were about 120~ish, however, when I saw the fact that IT HAS TWO SONY 1080P CAMERA I know this is what I'm looking for! Being a photographer for years I know how good sony's products are, especially their cameras. I've been sticking with sony cameras for a long time and just can't get over with it. I mean, what kind of dash cam uses SONY camera???? This is crazy, and for the price, I won't care about that extra above -the-average 30 bucks. For this price you got a dashcam with sony camera, what else you can complain about?? The other reason that I decided on buying this one over other cams is because according to the description, this cam is equipped with internal supercapacitor instead of usual lithium batteries. It is not safe to expose electronics with lithium batteries in the car during summer since they will explode!!! I live in NC and it could get pretty roasted in the summer. I also took safety as my priority. The dashcam is easy to install, when I tried it out, it's a HOLY COW, the quality of the imaging is just beyond amazing. I'm willing to pay another 30 bucks for this level of performance. The WDR mode is just on the point. I haven't got a chance to drive in the rain recently so i may update a little bit more about the performance in the rain later on with a video. This is my first time trying to write such a long review on Amazon because this dashcam is just way beyond my expectation in all and any ways, I'm so glad that my friend recommended it to me and after all the comparison I chose it. Love it, will highly recommend!

Unreliable
The price and battery (super-capacitors) were the reason why I bought it.But I had several issues with it that I can't recommend this dashcam to anyone.- I'm using the hardwire kit, yet it's not clear how the recording is different when you turn off the car from the regular recording, it still records everything and I noticed it drains the battery and I had to use the car regularly (I had to jump-start the car twice and replace the battery once). During COVID curfew I had to plug out the dashcam.- For some reason sometimes the cam doesn't record, randomly happens and you have to restart the dashcam (takes a lot of time to restart).- Instructions and UI aren't always clear, even the guide says you can use 128gb or less and then find out it's 64gb or less when I contacted customer support.- Customer support email most likely won't help with everything you need, and they stopped responding to me.- The rear cam stopped working, and the dash cam isn't working properly right now (about 8 months of using).Avoid buying it if you want a reliable dashcam.

THE CRUCIAL FUNCTIONALITY OF THE DASHCAM IS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!!
Updating this review based on my 3 weeks of using it.Daylight recording: 4/5. Great video for the front and rear camera. License plate could be read when the car in front or rear of you is around 1 car away , which afaik is the same with other dashcams anyway, so great really. Only reason why I deducted 1 point for now is that for a 1080p camera, the sharpness seems to be a tad bit washed out, my phones camera when recording at 1080p could still see text a on signs quite far away, with this, it couldn't, at least at night. Would prolly update this rating 5 when I could finally see the dashcam not deleting protected files.Nighttime normal recording: 2.5 /5. Basically useless for the rear camera when there are car headlights on. (Is there a recommmended position for the camera to work and see license plate at night?). Front camera is quite okay, if my headlights aren't poiting to the license plate of the car in front of me.Parking mode: Cannot fully determine yet, as it doesn't record in time lapse. Maybe 3/5....Manual : 3/5. The manual is not that complete, it doesn't elaborate how and when will the parking mode activate, there are icons in the dashcam I don't know and not in the manual. Most of all, the dashcams box says that it can support up to 128GB memory card, but the seller says it can only support 64GB. So I bought a 128GB first, and placed a 64GB later when they said it could be due to my card being a 128GB that I was encountering issues like the protected files being overwritten. But still the issue persistNight mode: 1/5. Very clear yes, but only if the surroundings is almost completely dark or pitch black. If you are driving in a very dark environment but there are street lights or cars even hundreds of meters from you, the night mode won't activate. In my three weeks of using it, never did I saw the dashcam activate the nightmode capability of the camera. I was only able to see its nightmode capability when I removed the front camera from my car, and tested it in my dark room at home. I could see why they didn't allow the night mode to activate that easily, it is because the video would be slowed down to prolly like 5-10 frames per second. I could make do with 15 frames per second as our cctv at home already records at that frame rate to save on memory usage but it's still okay and barely noticeable. But with this dashcams nightmode, It's like the video is lagging since the framerate of the video drops down so dramatically. Is this really normal?. Normal recording at night where the night mode isn't activate works fine anyway, but it's basically useless for the rear camera at night as it couldn't see license plates even 1 car away at night. Overall, very underwhelming nightmode capability. How I ever wished that we could just manually force it to go into night mode (but recording to at least 15 frames per second) Turning on the night mode in the settings doesn't actually activate the night mode that instant, rather it will wait for the environment to go pitch black first really before you could see it record in night mode.Event/Protected files functionality: 0/5. The dashcam is supposed to retain protected files and not overwrite it. But it is still deleting those protected files even though there are alot of normal files in the memory card. I experienced and encountered this first hand when I had an accident in the morning, I made sure that the video was saved and protected, but when I checked back to copy the video to my computer later that day, I couldn;t see that accident anymore as it has already been overwritten. In short, THE CRUCIAL FUNCTIONALITY OF THE DASHCAM IS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!!.....Recomendations to the seller/manufacturer:The dashcam is overwriting protected files. This could be fixed with a firmware update of the dashcam. I'm hoping you could just release a firmware update. I can't prolly return this item alread as I'm from the philippines and I has this item shipped at a U.S address via a freight forwarder and took them more than 1 month to deliver it to my country. I didn't plan of returning this anyway hence I had it through a freight forwarder. I didn't knew this dashcam would be a headache for me given the very good ratings. I guess those ratings didn't actually tested the dashcam thoughroly. Like at least if it actually retains the protected files or not.

Not meant for right hand vehicles.
I love this camera. Picture quality is fantastic. This is especially so on the rear camera. The rear camera, I will give 5 stars. However, the only reason I didn’t give this device a overall 5 star is because the front camera is pre configured to left hand vehicles. You cannot change the angle for right hand vehicles. Now the front camera view is still pretty wide and you will still get a great recording view if you change the angle of the mirror to directly face or be parallel to the windscreen. However if you would want to use the mirror in screensaver mode to see your kid in the back seat, then this becomes kind of useless. So a great product for left hand driving. Not so great for the right.
