A great addition to my kayak gear!
Despite having a knife on my PFD when I kayak (a Spyderco Tasman Salt ), I also wanted a strap cutter for situations where I may not want to risk the tip of my knife cutting more than I want (like a strap/line stuck around a arm or leg - I know I tend to over prepare, its the Eagle Scout in me). This has fit the bill perfectly. While I have not had to use it yet (and hope I never do), it is holding up well to the brackish water I kayak in (including an unexpected swim I took on a recent trip) with minimal maintenance (quick spray with fresh water every trip). The included sheath attaches easily to the side straps of my PFD (or the PALS webbing on the chest harness I wear when I don't have my PFD on) keeping the cutter handy at all time. I have no doubt this made in USA tool will be with me for years to come.

Good design
I originally bought this for cutting cordage. Oddly it does not work well for that. It cuts but not very cleanly.It works great for thin things, like webbing. But round thicker things seem to just jam up against the blade.Anyway, I bought one with a round blade that works better for cord. Now this one lives in my truck to cut seatbelts (what it was designed for..).The handle is very comfortable. The blade is replaceable with is a great if you are going to use it often.I like the weight fit and finish and replaceable blade. Just didn't quite work for my application.
