Favorite baby food book
I just received my copy and I'm so glad I bought it. I wasn't sure because I have her other book and was worried it might be too similar. I have five other baby food books and this is my favorite! (I love cookbooks, but no one really needs five for their babies!). My daughter is almost one but I will still get plenty of use out it. Just wish I have gotten it sooner! The chapters are set up by season, spring, summer, fall and winter. The chapters begin with baby food purees and end with family friend recipes. The index is set up so you can find recipes according to babies age too, which I love. And then also a normal index by ingredient or recipe name.Definitely get this book if you are going to be making your own baby food!

Good book. I just wish there were more recipes ...
Good book. I just wish there were more recipes for baby's 6 months. There are more recipes for 9+ so I can use it in a few more months.

It's okay.
I wish there were more recipes for babies (6-7m) but overall it's a good book. If you can get it at a low price I would recommend it. Don't spend a ton of money on it though. Can't wait to start making purees for our little guy!

The Only Baby Food Book You'll Ever Need!
Love this book - the only baby food book you'll ever need, and the best part: you'll still be able to use it and enjoy the recipes when your baby is college age! Bountiful Baby Purees is more than just a baby food book. It is the essential cookbook for the entire family. This book is so wonderful because it's not only teaching us how to make fresh, super healthy recipes for our babies but for everyone in our families as well. It contains yummy recipes subdivided into the seasons of the year - making cooking around the whole year long a breeze. Anni Daulter's always got some good recipes I'd never think to try without reading one of her many wonderful books. Recipes like Summer Veggie Flatbread Pesto Pizza with goat cheese or super easy fruit-filled pie pops. My children love anything and everything out of her cookbooks, and I love that all of her recipes incorporate fresh, healthy foods. It's good to know that your children are eating healthy too! Did I forget to mention the pictures in this book are GORGEOUS??? I could sit and skim the pages just looking at the pictures...and then get in my kitchen and try to recreate it.

Great ideas, but baking recipes not working
I was thrilled when I received this book for Christmas and have been picking out a new recipe to try nearly every week. The purees are simple and age appropriate, for the most part, and I love the combinations the author suggests. I appreciate her natural parenting advice at the beginning of the book and the organization around the seasons. So far, my husband and I love the Winter Squash Soup, the Comforting Potato and Kale Gratin and the Breakfast Ice Pops. I also like the Sweet Green Quinoa. My 8-month-old son has enjoyed feeding himself the foods that are appropriate for his age. We are trying baby led weaning, so I stop short of processing steamed fruits and veggies to a puree consistency, leaving them somewhat chunky for him to more easily handle himself.Unfortunately, I'm having a lot of trouble with the baking recipes I have tried for my husband and myself. The Apple Pecan Protein Biscuits sound delicious, and they look beautiful in the photo. But, after four attempts, I could get no where near that cookie-like shape and texture. Mine turned out flat and gummy. The Chocolate Beet Cupcakes tasted OK, but completely crumbled apart when handled. The Plum Tart with Brie and Honey-Roasted Walnuts was not good. I got no flavor at all out of mine (which was surprising considering the yummy ingredients) and the puff pastry failed to cook at under all the wet ingredients. Today, I tried the Fruit and Nut Sticky Buns. Again, the puff pastry was not cooking or puffing. I noticed on the box of the puff pastry that it should be cooked at 400 degrees. The author suggests 350 in her recipes. That's a big difference. When I turned the temp up to 400, the buns did at least cook a little more completely, but they in no resembled the puffy buns in the photo. As a stay-at-home mom who values fresh food, I'll probably keep trying the recipes in this book. I do look forward to the summer dishes when those foods come in season. However, I suggest parents take heed if they have less time to mess around with less-than-thoroughly-tested recipes.

Love it!
I absolutely love this book! I love how everything is separated in seasons. I've used this book since my baby was 4 months and I'm still using it now that he's 1.
