My kids are adopted from Russia, and I was so happy to find this candy here on Amazon! They are all adults now, but I still like to do something to remind them of their birth country on holidays. One of the kids was older when adopted and remembers having the candy as a small child. The chocolates are sweetly wrapped in the same way he remembers as a child. They are good tasting too. I ordered this two years ago and they were really good. This year must have been left overs from two years ago. I can't describe the nasty stank old taste. Wafer ones are almost soggy, no crispness at all. The chocolate centers are hard as a rock and every one of the outsiders had a whiteness on it the tells me these are OLD!Cant return. Throwing away before someone in my family gets sick!Seller should be ashamed of themselves!

This was a good find for what I needed - a sweet treat gifts for kids as part of presentation about Holidays in USSR. They don't know what it SHOULD taste like, and everyone taste is different and changes over the years. What tasted good to me as a kid in USSR - might taste bland today. So don't get hung up on the taste, it is just the feeling of authenticity that I needed. I bought two packs and had about 64-66 candy total. Warning - all candy have hazelnut or traces of other nuts in them.

All three are good, but the one with the girl face is awesome! The girl and the bear are some kind of wafer nut chocolates. The squirrel is meant to be nuts, but there are only trace fragments of nuts in them. The chocolate is amazing in all of them. I will buy them again.

We spent about 4 hours in the GUM hunting for Red October Chocolate before we found it. Imagine shopping in Moscow for Red October Chocolate when you can jut buy it on Amazon. It is as good as chocolate gets. Smooth and tasty

I bought these candies for a client of mine. We had seen few hiccups during the job and his wife was a little unhappy. His wife is Russian and I asked a few of my buddies what to get as a peace offering. This is what they suggested. It worked WAY better than imagined. My husband is from Ukraine so he misses the candies from Ukraine, and from time to time I'll search and see if I can find anything from there. These candies taste very old and do not taste good at all; I would definitely not buy again and would not recommend it.
