Vivo en el Perú, y compré este producto (2 barriles de 2 y uno de1 litro) sabiendo que si no funcionaban no podría devolverlos. Algunos comentarios decían que los barriles goteaban y que no servían. Llegaron antes de la fecha ofrecida (a Miami) y cuando los traje al Perú y abrí la caja me sorprendió su belleza, su buen acabado, su olor a madera suave, y la claridad y honestidad de las instrucciones. Las seguí con cuidado y en 12 horas los tres barriles están hinchados y listos para recibir sus contenidos finales el día de mañana. Si no estas dispuesto a seguir las instrucciones, tener paciencia, y desarrollar una pasión, este producto no es para ti. Pero si lo estas, creo que este proveedor es top of the line.Si no tienes experiencia en el uso de madera te recomiendo hacer un poco de investigación, en la propia pagina web de red head barrels. Temas como (1) el tiempo de maceración en relación al volumen de barrilete (cuanto menor es el volumen, mayor madera otorga al liquido y por tanto el tiempo debe ser menor), o (2) cuanto mas nuevo es el barril mas rápido otorga la madera, que cuando es un barril usado muchas veces, etc.Yo usaré uno para el vinagre que hacemos en casa hace 40 años con los restos de vino; otro para mi scotch, y el mas chiquito para preparar mis Negronis una semana antes de mis reuniones. Una vez cargados los barriles, probaré cada dia unas gotas de su contenido, para saber como va, y una vez listo a mi gusto, envasaré en vidrio. Si no consumo tanto, en el tiempo entre una maceración y otra los tendré llenos de agua filtrada SIN CLORO con un poquito de vinagre, scoth, o Negroni que después botaré, cuando vaya a preparar mas. Sobre el sabor o aroma que otorga la madera, actualizaré este comentario luego de mi primera cosecha, que no se cuándo será.Si todo sale como parece que saldrá, compraré mas para regalar a mi familia y amigos.

I normally don't leave reviews, however I felt it was an order for my experience with Red Head Barrels. My personalized barrel came well packaged, in great condition, with everything listed. The craftsmanship was better than I had expected, and the engraving was flawless. After following the instructions, the barrel only seeped liquid for a day (as noted to be expected during curing process) and has since been leak free (no need for wax). So far, so good. I also ordered a cleaning kit, which arrived missing a few items. I contacted them about the issue via email, after 8pm on a Friday night. I was surprised when I received a response in less than a hour! They apologized for the error and said that the items would be in the mail the following day. I also inquired about a replacement bung, which they promptly sent out as well, free of charge. All exchanges were friendly and professional, and my replacement items arrived a few days later.Overall, I would recommend, and would buy again (probably will!). Well made product, and a company that stands behind it with great customer service!

Bought a 10L Barrel and had a leaking problem. Called Red Head and they not only helped me with my leaking problem but they went above and beyond and sent me a new barrel when we were unable to resolve the problem with the first barrel. Dealt with amazing people through the whole ordeal. Still waiting for my whiskey to finish aging but I have tasted it and it is well on its way thanks to this Charred Oak Barrel from Red Head!! Will definitely buy more barrels.
