GREAT FRESH PRODUCT
This was my first time ordering and trying African black soap. I should mention that I have Psoriasis over about 70% of my body and store bought soap, even the stuff for sensitive skin burns and itches me....Ive even had a few types actually cause my skin to bleed.SO, that is why I decided to try African black soap I read that it can be helpful for Psoriasis..also there's no chemicals or fragrances added (those irritate my skin as well).So..I did a "test patch washing" from my hands to my elbows on both arms when it first came ....NO itching, stinging, burning. I just felt smooth and clean..I will mention that I have Psoriasis on BOTH forearms from wrist to elbow. I did this test twice before using it on my whole body and face.So far its wonderful...My skin is CLEAN and feels smooth...I have NOT noticed any "stripping" or over drying ...However I do apply shea butter (ordered from smellgood of course) or a body butter I make after bathing. My Psoriasis seem to be smoothing out and less bumpy. Also no scaley hanging around either :)My husband has been using this soap as well, he has those rough bumps on the backs of his arm...those are almost gone after about 4 days of using this soap. He also washes his hair with it.This soap lathers into a creamy lather, and a little goes a LONG way.I will say that the smell is a little different LOL. EARTHY is the best way to describe it. I find it to be Less strong when actually bathing with it than sniffing it in the bag. Also this soap is NOT rock hard or dry crumbly its solid but soft I cut and break it easily.I am thrilled to have finally found a soap that I can use that wont hurt my skin/Psoriasis :) I will definitely be ordering again but I think 3lbs of this should last me a good long while !

I was buying on Amazon from a different vendor for about 2 years until they increased the price like 60%, was nervous to change vendors but this ...
I live by this stuff. This is the only soap I have used for years. I am a dark skin black woman and always get compliments on my skin.I was buying on Amazon from a different vendor for about 2 years until they increased the price like 60%, was nervous to change vendors but this was a good decision. This is my fourth order. Shipping and packaging is always a1. It comes in a plastic bag and the soap is molded into a huge triangular block that is saran wrapped. I just cut the block (soap is soft but firm) and get about 8 regular sized bars that last me and my family of 4 about a month bathing once a day. It is all natural, lathers up extremely well, unclogs pores, reduce dark blemishes, and is a life saver for my sons eczema.Beware that it will strip your skin of any left over residue and will dry it out of course lol, so I would recommend immediately feeding the damp skin coconut oil and/or castor to rehydrates with the good fat oils. It keeps my melanin popping to say the least.Great buy, you won't be disappointed.

Get this! It will change your life.
I love this stuff! I can't believe that I had not heard of African Black Soap sooner. I now question my friendships because my friends that use African Black Soap, never insisted I use it. I actually purchased after it was recommended by beauty blogger Lorissa Turner and one other friend. Anyhow...let me reiterate; I REALLY love this soap. This was my first experience with the stuff, so seeing it upon arrival was quite strange. As one of my daughters stated, "You have moldy bread on your bathroom counter." LOL... the soap looks...uh...very odd. I'm not sure why it looks like that, but every photo I've seen of this stuff looks the same. So I wasn't the least bit concerned about the appearance. In my package, there was a small piece of soap that was loose, so I chose to use that piece. Oh...My...Goodness! This was the best experience ever. It was the softest most plentiful lather...smooth and creamy. I felt so clean, but didn't feel dry. After looking in the mirror after my shower, I'm not lying, my skin looks so refreshed and bright. It's awesome. I use my black soap with exfoliation gloves, every other day. Otherwise, I use a wash cloth. I've heard that people have had issues with the texture. Well, to be honest, if this soap is made in a rural environment and it's all natural, I'm not surprised that some things could possibly pop up in it. Because of that, I never lather it on my skin. I lather it on my cloth or in my hands. I love this soap. I just hate that I didn't learn about it years ago.

like it!
got a big chunk of african black soap. i've used "conventional" and various handmade bars but this is my first time using this kind of soap but i read the reviews and followed the how-to-use instructions.its lumpy and crumbled a bit when cutting off a chunk and wrapped the main chunk to store in a cool/dry place.it works great with a washcloth, suds thick, cleans well without feeling dry. also can put soap in a bottle with water to make a liquid body soap.love that its not scented with a chemical fragrance, smells lightly of wood/chocolatewill buy again

Wonderful stuff! Great honest seller!
Great seller! Usually when I buy African Black Soap in bulk on Amazon, I almost ALWAYS get ripped off with the amount they send. This time, I was pleased to find out that they actually went a few ounces OVER on the weight of it! So that was definitely a pleasant surprise. The soap itself is definitely quality. Feels and smells like true African Black Soap and dissolves easily in water for a liquid soap option. The black bits in it are just leftover ash from the plantain skins that the soap is made of and is nothing to be concerned with. This type of soap is very raw and is not meant for direct skin lathering (lather it on the palms of your hands first then apply to body). This soap has personally helped me fight acne and is the BEST for removing tough dirt, grease or oils. The liquid version of it also makes a GREAT natural clarifying shampoo without stripping your hair or scalp----especially for those with very oily hair. Overall this is a great product and obviously a great place to buy it (for the best price on Amazon).
