Brilliant hole punch set
This hole punch set has been invaluable for punching holes in heavy canvas. Sharp and easy to use. Great value for money.

Needs sharpening, but still alright for the price.
While this is a nice, solid set of hole punches, they arrive not having been sharpened at all, only machined into shape, which means quite a bit of sharpening is needed to make them truly fit for purpose. Right away, they are actually more effective when grinding down by rotation rather than by punching straight down. And not very effective either way.Ironically, the large cut-out for letting the punched-out cores through the side were sharper than the cutting edge and need a bit of filing down to avoid cutting yourself on them. The angle of the cutting edge is quite steep, making it harder to punch through something thick as the leading edge is a lot narrower than the trailing shaft. In materials that get compressed, such as cardboard, that also means your hole will be significantly wider at the top than at the bottom. This may or may not matter to you.Still, at this price for this kind of set, it's not bad value for money, and I'd still recommend them if you have the means to sharpen your tools, but just don't expect optimum performance straight out of the box.

These make round holes in stuff
They make holes in stuff. You hit them with a hammer. Probably not with Mjollnir, that might be a bit too severe, but somewhere in the thumb bruising weight, say 2lbs. Good technique is important. Hold the punch square on and bring the hammer down with some gusto. I prefer the over arm method. This pretty much guarantees you’ll make a hole, or require a visit to A&E. Hey, life’s a lottery right? One minute you’re making small round holes in stuff, then the next nine hours you’re sitting in an overcrowded waiting room with a left hand that looks like an outtake from zombie apocalypse… like I said they make small round holes…

Great little punch assortment
Great assortment and good value for money. I've only used them on leather approximately 3.5mm thick and they work great.

Does the job.

Super soft steel
I've never seen such a soft tool steel. Doesn't make a clean cut at all even in paper. Very difficult to sharpen them as it creates burrs even at 45° angle due to soft steel. They are mabe good for punching holes in play-doh.
