Magnetic Privacy Screen for 12 Inch MacBook (2015, 2016, 2017) Anti-Blue Light and Anti-Glare Protector Ultra Slim MacBook Screen Filter (A1534)

This privacy screen is incredibly effective. Im in grad school and my classmates often comment about how they think my computer is off until they see me typing because they can't see anything on my screen. Its super easy to put on and because its magnetic it can be removed easily if you need to show someone something. it is most effective at preventing people next to you from seeing what youre doing, people behind will be able to see your screen but to a diminished extent. I recommended it to all my friends and classmates.

The item arrived completely folded. In the shipment they should have written "DO NOT BEND". In order to be able to use it, I had it subject to books for a full month so that it would reach its original state. Then, as you can see in the photo, I had to fasten it with a catch, I didn't expect that. Finally it must be developed so that even a person behind you cannot see anything. Be totally private. Still the product is very good.

Easy fit, no smudges or wrinkles. Privacy filter works only so well as someone directly behind a few feet away can still shoulder view.

In this review I would like to 1) correct some wrong things in other reviews (or at least things that have changed by now and 2) take into account conditions that are stated by the to make the product work better.The conditions that are stated to affect the degree to which this product will work are 1) environmental lighting (it helps to have a well- lit room) and 2) the level of monitor brightness (the more dim you have your monitor, the more effective). This brings me to my first attached photo. You will not be in a better-lit room than the one that I have run my test in. It is lit by successional, bright LED bulbs and will be optimal for conditions that you will experience in class and office settings, but there is little likelihood of you replicating the conditions with warm lighting at home. The test started at 75% power (the second photo is 75% brightness, no cover). I then added the screen in the third (75% brightness, half covered) and fourth photos (75% brightness, covered). You can see in both at 0 degrees of angle the cover provides no hinderance to reading and may be easier on the eyes. However, also note the amount of reflection has increased considerably and glare may be more of an issue. In the fifth and sixth photos you can see that one must be at a considerable angle to have no visibility (both 75%, covered). Thus, overhead lighting is shown to be insufficient, as stated on the packaging.At a lower degree of brightness, the cover is noticeably more effective. Picture seven is at 0 degrees angle and has begun to show signs of difficulty on the sides, similar to vignetting (25% brightness, covered). Yet, when at a similar angle to picture five, the screen is still relatively visible, and you can still see the display of brightness. I did not test any lower brightness because it becomes unrealistic for day-to-day use, perhaps effective for times of highest security concern.Concerning attachment, 3M adhesives are provided, and 2 methods are given to the consumer. 1) You can put tabs on the sides, allowing the scree to slip in between the tabs and the monitor's screen. The first method makes the screen easily removable and is preferable. I was unable to try this method because the plastic siding on both sides of the screen is far too thin to accommodate the tabs. Using this method does make the screen reusable, provided only that you acquire more tabs. 2) You can put double-sided adhesives between the screen of your monitor and the protection screen. This method may be your only choice but has obvious drawbacks, including making removal difficult, trying to put it on a different screen, and losing adhesiveness when repeatedly applying and removing. 3) A third, and less viable, method that I opted for in the long run (which is not recommended by the packaging) is to simply rest the screen against the monitor. This is less of an issue on a laptop (which I use) because a backwards angle keeps it from slipping down. This method allows for transferability and no sticky residue on your screen, but it sacrifices some visibility at 0 degrees in the middle because of bowing. For me, the bowing is a worth-while tradeoff.TL;DR Yes, the screen has problems, especially for those with the deep concern for high security and for those who cannot accommodate plastic tabs on their monitor. However, certain concerns, like brightness and reusability, has not been addressed by all reviews and may (MAY) not be a concern for you. 3M adhesives work well, at least the first time it is stuck.

The item fits the dark area of the MBP 2012 13" with CD room and fits the entire screen of the MBP 2013 with Retina.Overall a great experience. Highly recommend the seller and product!

It does what it says but doesn’t work in a dark room.

I’m outside using my MacBook all the time and have to constantly fold the screen so I can see it without the GLARE/REFLECTIONS….NOT ANYMORE!!! This product is perfect and just snaps into place (on top of my screen protector I might add) and just as easily is removed!!! This is a must have!!! I love it!

I've seen some others that work a lot better, but for the price, and the size, you pretty much get what you pay for. Yes it works, but there are others out there that work a lot better. Could be due to the size though, not sure. Works well enough.

El tamaño es el indicado pero el artículo tiene un par de detalles:1. Los stickers que trae para fijar al monitor, son un poco difíciles de manejar y en el caso de la pestaña de sujeción, esta se rompió al colocarlo.2. El buen desempeño depende mucho de la luminiscencia y resolución del monitor. En mi caso, tengo un monitor BenQ HD 1080p y desafortunadamente oscureció muchísimo mi pantalla.A favor:La pantalla de privacidad cumple bien su función a partir de un ángulo de 20°. Eso está perfecto.Personalmente yo desempeño mi trabajo en un lugar que tiene exceso de luz del sol, así que ayuda a disminuir el cansancio ocular.

I don't see much difference between using the built in screen brightness in my laptop and this click on device. It still has a high reflection which I was hoping would be more matte to get rid of screen glare from daylight but it does not do this at all.It connects easily to my laptop via the magnets. Bought it for a 13" Macbook and it fits perfectly.Whilst it does offer privacy, you need to have the screen directly facing you to see the screen or it is shaded quite a bit, which can be annoying at times, but at least the privacy aspect works.If you are only looking for a privacy screen, this will work for you.

I love how easy it is to install. I can remove it and put it back on my laptop whenever I want. Definitely keeps your screen private when looking from a side angle. I’ve noticed it works better depending on the brightness of my screen.Overall I love this product but the one thing I’m not satisfied with is the fact that my laptop doesn’t completely close with it on. Other than that I love this privacy screen.

The screen cover doesn't hold at the bottom, not sure why they're evn allowed to sell such a useless prodcut.They should even ban people from being allowed to make it.Imagine, the screen protector does waht it's supposed to, except at the bottom theres no attachment or magnet so it floats. Very dissatisfied, but may nto bother taking the trouble to even return it. Undecided.

Item arrived on time and in perfect condition. Well-packaged. Fits my 13-inch 2019 MacBook Pro screen perfectly, and I can already feel the strain on my eyes reducing IMMENSELY. I am so thankful for this product, as I teach online for many hours during the day, and have been having eye strain and headaches. Very easy to put on and remove from the screen. Best purchase in a time of online work.
