I usually don't write reviews, but after purchasing this expensive LX5C golf watch I feel that I owe other golfers my take on it. The following unfavorable issues are in no particular order: 1. It takes approximately 8-10 minutes to search satellites and get its location. 2. This was the worst problem; it lost reception 3 times during the round and had to go through its 8-10 minute search to restart. 3. Even on the brightest setting, the screen was unreadable in the sunlight. 4. Instructions advise setting the Auto-Dim to 10 seconds to preserve battery life; that means when you tap the face to awaken it, you have 10 seconds to do whatever you care to do with it. If you're checking distances to penalty areas, bunkers, etc. you need much longer. 5. For us seniors who require reading glasses for small print, most information on this watch is unreadable without those glasses. 6. As I made the turn past the clubhouse on my course, the watch cycled back to hole #1 and was very would not automatically find its location as I played the back 9. Basically, a pretty hi-tech device, but not very user friendly and efficient. I have used a Garmin S20 for a couple years and am much happier going back to it.

I had hopes that this watch would provide accuracy in yardage as good as my Garmin and with added color, give a better picture of the greens and fairways. From a techno viewpoint, this is an upgrade over the Garmin. however, ease of use, not so much. battery life, less than advertised. after 12 holes, the battery life was at 31%. that is a far cry from the "will last two rounds" promise. as for the size, i had no problem, but I'm 6'5" and weigh 240. a smaller person may not be as ready to strap a bigger than life watch on.To skycaddie: nice try no cigar!

I have had five other gps units. This one for ease of use and the information it provides is the one I have settled on. The fact you have it on your person at all times helps speed up the round especially if you walk away from the cart any distance. Graphics, scoring and accuracy are top notch. Also while comparing to other gps units I found this unit to be the most accurate ( probably because the courses are manually mapped according to the manufacturer). Green views are with features, a great help.

After using Garmin watches, this is a piece of junk! I could never get it to lock on a satellite. I'm returning ASAP.. just ordered another Garmin....

This is an absolutely amazing device and provides critical information on the course I could not get with my previous Garmins. It is especially useful if you are out of position on the course where a laser will do you no good. I played it yesterday for the first time and pulled out my Bushnell laser 7 times to compare accuracy. All 7 times this device was exactly on the number as they laser! So happy I went ahead and bought it, even though this is a brand new design.

Junk and customer service is no help at all. Pretty sure the watch I received is faulty but Skycaddie customer service won't help. Have sent logs in multiple times and never heard anything back. I need a replacement but am having no luck getting that done. The fitness features don't work at all and the battery goes in 2 days and that is not when on course. If I am trying to use the gps battery will last only one day. The watch will shut down on its own. Too many issues to list. If anyone has any info for me that would helpful please let me know.

I bought this for my husband for Fathers Day….Could not sync it on a tablet. Hasn’t tried on his computer yet. That’s why the low rating. He really hasn’t used it yet. So I can’t say.

I am still getting used to the features of this watch and the golf settings, but I am quite happy with my purcahse. The watch has many functions to use during play of the round and I'm starting to find just how to use many of them. The watch was delivered very quickly and ahead of scheduled date. No problems to date.
