Red light therapy
This flashlight is the perfect spectrum of red light for healing purposes, that's what we use ours for. But the battery life is good, lasts awhile. We love this little thing.

Wow!
This really lights up the area. My dogs definitely can’t see the light. Very easy to spot the feral hogs with.

Charging port detached inside flashlight - Can't charge, can't repair - Basically useless - Avoid
The female connector where you are supposed to insert the charging cable is not supported by anything. I noticed it was a bit flimsy when I first tried it but I made a note to be careful in the future. I was a bit worried about the solder connections coming loose as cheap electronics have a tendency to do. I didn't expect the entire thing to detach, though.I haven't used the light a ton, so it lasted quite a while on the two batteries I initially fully charged.Well, the battery finally died, and when I went to charge it I noticed that there was no connector. Just a hole in the metal where the connector once was. I can see no supports, glue, standoffs, or anything that looks like it would hold it in place. I can see a small PCB that the connector was evidently soldered to.It just fell off through regular use of the flashlight. Not even when attempting to plug in the cable. Only upon closer inspection did I accidentally shake loose the connector from wherever it ended up stuck inside the flashlight, so now it audibly rattles too. There is no way to access the inside of the light to repair it. So now I'm stuck with a flashlight that has a broken charging port floating around inside it, that can't turn on because the batteries are dead, and two batteries that can't be charged because the flashlight is broken.Additionally, I received a faulty pressure switch that had a flimsy connection that eventually just stopped working entirely. The brand sent a replacement for that, though, so I can't complain too much. But this one flaw with the charging port has essentially rendered the entire product useless. I could find out what the batteries are and try and find an appropriate charger so I can charge externally, but I still have a hole in the flashlight that has a broken part rattling around inside it that I can't charge without removing the battery (assuming I can find a 3rd party charger in the first place)Brightness was decent, a bit more narrow than I expected. Probably not great outdoors at night in areas where you need to see longer distances. Battery life was actually quite impressive. Rated that as a 3 because of the issues with the charging.I can't really speak to the night vision preservation because I didn't test it thoroughly. I would assume it works though since it is light in the red wavelength.Anyway, I am stuck with a useless hunk of metal and out ~30 bucks. The charging connector looks like it was held in place entirely by the solder points so this flaw is probably a risk for every unit. Buy something else.

Lots of options for this sturdy red flashlight. Got multiple modes including strobe & flashing.
What I don't like about it is that I can't choose which mode it is without cycling through all of them and the power button is a little hard to find in the dark. What I do like, it's bright enough. The brightest setting is very bright. It is also nice wavelength red light, so preserves your night vision and is harder to see from a distance. It can be mounted on a rifle and provides a remote switch. Comes with USB cord and a spare battery. Battery hasn't run out yet, so can't really talk about what battery life would be. I'll revise if I find that it's really short. Good solid metal, and feels good in the hand. Not puny or overly heavy. A little big for some pockets, but it would work if you use it that way too. I'd give it an A- because if I mounted it on a gun, and hit the remote, it would have to go through the modes.

Definitely wont shine as far as they say.
I truly love these windfire red lights for predator hunting at night however this particular modle is not what they say it is and will not shine half as far as they say it will. I will definitely be returning this one. For ordering advice buy the 802 or the s10.
