Cheap and badly made clothes
I love the concept of these normally-proportioned dolls in inspiring roles, especially as it’s hard to find dolls that are not uberfeminine and hypersexualised, but the clothes and accessories that that come with the Lottydolls are really poorly made (lopsided, stitching wonky and already coming undone), not worth paying full price for. This is our second, hoped the shoddy clothing with the first doll was just a bad batch but it seems this is the accepted standard with the manufacturer. Disappointing: won’t be buying any more until reviews show an improvement.

Great for girls who love fossils!
My daughter thought it this was fantastic. She's been hooked on David Attenborough since 3 years old, and last year we went to Lyme Regis to fossil hunt and visit museums, including the ichthyosaur from his documentary. Back at home she played role play games based around Mary Anning and her dog, finding fossils all over the place. This fossil hunter doll was so perfect with its Mary Anning information cards, and all the great gear she has, which reminding me of fossil hunting with my daughter and visiting the ammonite pavement. It feels like Lottie is a real fossil hunter who actually knows her stuff! Such a well thought out toy.

Not all that it's made up to be
I actually don't see why these dolls are so popular. The clothes are flimsy the bag was made of non hardqearing felt stuff, it was smaller than expected. I'm glad it's not a barbie and it's more educational than that, but honestly I thought they would be higher quality. Kid is always pulling the leg off by accident, and her face is kind of disproportionate and her eyes are silly.

Fossil hunting fun!
Bought for my son who chose it after learning about fossils at school. He's played with her lots so far, the little accessories offer excellent scope for play and is educational too. We have had Pirate Lottie for my daughter for over 4 months and she still looks as good as when we first got her. The hair on these dolls is different to most in that it doesn't tangle or get messy looking. Recommend Lottie dolls to anyone!

Lottie fossil hunter doll - expensive but worth it.
I bought this doll for my niece who is six. It was an addition to our fossil hunt trip. She loved hunting for fossils and the doll was the icing on the cake. For me, I do think it could have been a bit cheaper. On the plus side I really like the idea of raising aspirations through play and the link to STEM. So overall it was worth it.
