Hilariously enough, I didn't buy these to keep a baby out of cabinets; I bought them to keep a cat out! I have a young bengal and he gets into everything. He's smart enough to wrap his paws around cabinet handles and pull them open. While we only use natural cleaners, products, etc., I still don't want him rooting around in our cabinets because he has a bad habit of chewing on plastic and soft materials (I'd rather not have him die, you know?). So, we installed these in both our kitchen and bathroom. He was not happy, but I am thrilled! He yanked on these for about a week before finally giving up. Thank you for the peace of mind, Jambini.These were super easy to install and we've never had a problem with them not opening/closing properly. While it seems like it'd be annoying to have to use a magnet to open your cabinets every time you want something, it honestly becomes second nature and isn't a problem at all. Bonus points because these won't ruin cabinets, either (and I'm in an apartment, making that essential). Highly recommend these to keep all the critters out of the cabinets!

We bought a set of these 3 years ago with our first child. We have moved since and had another child who is now of age to rummage through the cabinets. We had a great first experience and thought we'd try again, which by the way, the prices had gone down from $20 for a pair to $20 for two pair. Great incentive to buy more!Since our first purchase in 2017, the update to this product is an installation jig to keep the latch and lock together to provide a perfect mate. I will concede that you will have to get crafty when you're going to install this on a single cabinet door, which you cannot see or hold the locks prior to adhesion. Lucky for me, I had a drawer above I could remove and mount it through the drawer hole.I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I recommend it to everyone.**if you don't think of yourself as a "handy" person or are afraid you will mess up the installation, I would also recommend you seek assistance. The adhesive is very sticky will degrade every time you attempt to peel off and reapply.
