This is misleading. It says suitable for 'most cot beds', not so. Cot beds are a standard size and are far smaller than the minimum size that this is suitable for. I bought this based on the description, but the minimum sized mattress you can use it with is 90cm such is bigger than cot bed size so this is NOT suitable for cot beds. Cot bed mattresses are 70cm width, this can only be used with a minimum of 90cm width mattress. I bought it a few months before I needed it and now can't return it.

We cosleep and have a sleigh bed, slatted base, sunken mattress that's very thick. (20cm) was very hard to find a bed guard that worked along side all this. And this one is the one! It's perfect. Small package, easy to slot together.

I bought this to use when we go on caravan holidays, as our daughter has a raised bed at home & therefore a built in guard. She will often fall out of caravan beds. It did the trick perfectly.Also use it when my husband / Daddy is away for work & our daughter will sometimes sleep in our bed on a weekend. It slotted under the mattress easily.It was really easy to put up; the instructions were really easy to follow. However it is much trickier to take down and it had to stay "built" until my husband was able to dismantle it. Purely because it was tricky to press in the nodes that kept it secure. That said, my husband took it down with ease.

The metal frame of the guard is solid when built, but it does take about 5-10 minutes to put together. The fabric that goes over the side of the guard is durable but is a bit rough and makes a crumpling sound when moved or rubbed, which makes a noise when knocked in the night – a softer fabric would have been preferred. There are straps which you attach to the back of the bed to keep it secure, however I found the straps complicated to adjust and I can't seem to get them tight enough.I would buy this product again as the price is reasonable for the product despite these points.

A bit of a faff to put together (I didn't understand the instructions, but worked it out). It looks good and fussy son has taken to it well. It doesn't attached securely against the mattress, so I recommend tying it on. I have to tell my 4 year old son not to climb over it, as it fell off when he tried and he hurt himself falling against his toys.
