This movie is in my top three favorite movies of all time
This movie is in my top three favorite movies of all time. I am a fan of Adam Sandler's and this movie showed a different aspect of his acting abilities. I love that the movie portrays counter-cultural self-restraint in the face romantic passions when yielding would destroy the lives of those they loved the most. In not yielding, the characters demonstrated a higher love and respect for each other, themselves, and their families. It was soooo awesome. Otherwise, the humor was spot on, the acting superb, and the story was completely engaging.

Over hyped, but not a waste of two hours.
It filled two plus hours, but I would not watch it again. A bit too much woke tripe for my taste. It created no strong emotions in me. The wife was ridiculous, but probably not a completely false portrayal of Hollywood/LA narcissistic wives/mothers. I really couldn't relate to the character and didn't understand why Sandler's character was still married to her. I just finished watching the movie and can't remember the name of a single character.

Funny and Smart
Can an unwed Mexican mother of a school-age daughter find happiness keeping house for a wealthy, quirky Southern California family with marital problems? In a world of glaring cultural differences and misunderstandings further complicated by the fact she doesn’t speak English, the answer is, alas, no. Flor Moreno (Paz Vega) is the drop-dead gorgeous single mother who is hired as live-in housekeeper for a rich American family. Her whip-smart daughter speaks English and for a time acts as interpreter between Flor and the American family. Increasingly frustrated by the manipulative and culturally insensitive mother of the American family (played by Téa Leoni), Flor learns English and in the end decides the best thing for her and her daughter is to return to the Barrio where life is less complicated and their cultural values stand a better chance of enduring. Notable is Adam Sandler as the father and Cloris Leachman as his alcoholic but perceptive mother-in-law. The movie is funny, smart, and I’m surprised it didn’t do better at the box-office. A real shame. Five stars in my book.

Great Movie
You know how sometimes you find an actress that outshines the main star? This is that movie although I have to straight up mention I am not a huge fan of Adam Sandler this is not the reason why. Paz Vega (Flor) is fantastic in this movie...she reminds me of my mother in many ways with that Latin way of caring for the family in this case her daughter. this movie is hilarious and unique in many ways. I recommend!

Tea Leoni
Just watch it again after all these years, I appreciate Tea Leoni more now in this movie than when I first saw it, it really is some Academy Awards acting, she is really believable as this neurotic, insecure all kinds of mess housewife.

Subtitles... (speaking in Spanish)
Spanglish the movie about language that does not offer Spanish subtitles...I am learning Spanish slowly. and my future wife is learning (Ingles)She laughed when there were no Spanish subtitles. and I laughed when in the movie they spoke Spanis and the subtitles read "speaking Spanish" haha we could not help but laugh about the movie called Spanglish with the worst language options!I think the people making residuals off this thing could take the time and fix these issues I have mentioned!

Heartwarming movie!
I really love this movie. Adam Sandler is really wonderful... he has the opportunity to create a quiet, sincere character which is such a treat to watch. The storyline is great. I bought this because I wanted to watch it one night and surprisingly it wasn't available at that time on any of the streaming services I had. I don't regret buying it...now I watch it whenever I want

great movie! In the midst of disfunction were two families with so much love for their families and children and in a rare moment in Hollywood, the right thing is done, even though there was a strong desire to take the selfish route! Such a heartbreaking and heartwarming movie at the same time, yet you still smile and just love the "sane" characters?

A truly enjoyable Sandler/ensemble film
I love this film as it has great characters. Sandler shows a little more depth (and boy he does have some). The lead female...well, I could watch all day and night and am in truth, completely in love with. I cannot tear my eyes off her. She is incandescent, beautiful in every way. Marry me!!

SPANGLISH
Athough I am not a great lover of Adam Sandler, and i do have other films that he is the leading actor, CLICK & FIRST 50 DATES he has not come over as a very large actor (in personality),But I must say that in this film he has exceeded himself and passed with full honours. He seemed to be the key that held this movie together when it was about to fall apart,it was going from one scene to another without much guidance or reason but along came adam and everything fell into place.I have never seen Tea Leoni,Cloris Leachman or Paz Vega before, but they all worked together making this a very memorable film.the idea of a mexican servant who couldn't speak a word of english was absolutely hysterical, and when asked to make some coffee paz's expression of total shock at seeing the cofee maker was a picture in itself.Tea Leoni seemed to float around trying to organise everyone and failing was a sort of portrail of the life she was living on screen and the mother (Cloris Leachman) who always seemed to have a glass in her hand suprised me by becoming sober and offering her daughter some good advice. So on the whole a very enjoyable film that I am glad to have seen and will not forget in a hurry

Very Watchable
Seen this film, or bits of it, many times. Excellent. Not Adam Sandler's usual type of film. There is No slapstick or knock about comedy. It is funny, but in a more sarcastic, educated, witty way. The whole team of actors work well together and they are all included in the story, everyone has a part to play. Definitely a film for all of the family, although there is a 'noisy' bedroom scene near the beginning, which mums and dads, of children under about 13, may wish to remove child from room for, just a few minutes - maybe send them to get a snack out of the cupboard or to the toilet - until that bit is over.

CULTURE CLASH
Subtle comedy of cultural manners that shows Whites as emotionally shallow and materialistic while Hispanics are seen as having a more emotionally and ethically-based culture. This movie is also a drama about the nature of personal identity and the fact that it comes initially from ones birth circumstances - a fact that can be rejected, but never denied. This woman-centered movie features fine performances and reminds us all that when you take on a woman, sexually, you take on the world.

What a surprise
When I heard the title and learned that Adam Sandler was in this movie, I had very low expectations as he is not one of my favourite actors and generally I don't like his movies. What a pleasant surprise. This is a wonderful film, not at all the low-level fluff film I expected. All the female actresses, young and old, are absolutely terrific, and Adam Sandler does a respectable job in a semi-serious role. Perhaps sometimes there is a bit of overacting but the writing is very clever, and the film will elicit laughter as well as tears. I found myself still thinking about the movie the next day, something that all too often doesn't happen with today's highly forgettable films. In my opinion this is really a movie for teens and up, not a movie for children. Aside from a bad word or two and a (hilarious) sex scene, the underlying themes are quite adult.
