Scan Tool Barcode Scanner, Imillet Handheld USB Wired Barcode Reader, ID 2D and QR Code Scanner Reader

I tried using this for the first time today and it is worse than useless. It very reliably produses bad reads of both Code 39 and QR code data. It gives the same garbled reading time after time. Used another borrowed 1D unit on a number of Code 39 codes and it worked flawlessly, and it was not a high end product. I don't know if it's just this particular unit or the whole line, but I hesitate to take the necessary time to swap it for another of the same type. I'll probalby be sending this one back and getting another kind, probably for more money.
