Biodegradable/compostable coffee pods
My coffee machine has sat unused for a while as I wasn't happy with generating so much plastic waste, so I was interested to try these coffee pods to see if they delivered on taste as well as not being harmful to the environment. I have tried this coffee as beans which I grind at home and love their flavour. The pods, while not quite as good as freshly ground beans, still make a very drinkable cup of coffee so I suspect my coffee machine will get much more use a result. The used pods are destined for my compost heap so I really do hope that they live up to their advertising as genuinely compostable......if so, a real find.

Nespresso machines cannot push water through these pods, do not buy
Disappointing. The coffee tastes good but they just don't work in a Nespresso machine (as marketed). The stream flowing out of the machine is weak initially which reduces to a drip and then nothing, leaving my machine struggling. I have tried cleaning both the brewing chamber (using the special cleaning pod things) and bu running cleaning solution through the machine but this doesn't help.I wish that an environmentally friendly product like this would work but it doesn't, I worry that these pods are going to break my machine from the strain of trying to force water through them.Sorry, but do not buy.

First batch were great, second a disappointment
I bought a pack of these, found the taste good and rich, best compostable capsules that I have used. However when I purchased a second batch, I had the problem that other reviewers have mentioned of the coffee being too tightly packed such that my machine was unable to push water through them. It seems to be a bit hit and miss - luck of the draw whether you get a good batch. I was really disappointed after having had a previous good experience. Hope the manufacturer can sort out their quality control as this is a good product that I would purchase again if I could get some assurance that they have sorted out these issues.

Slow
I like the convenience of the nespresso machine but the pod waste does play on me a bit, so these looked like the answer. Something about the material they are made from means they don’t work right. With nesprsso pod you get your coffee in about 30secs these take up to 2mins and you get half the coffee. I cant see for sure why this happens but I think as the capsule is softer it moulds in the water injection and blocks the flow. As a solution I have been pokinging a couple of holes with a knife before putting it in the machine which helps a bit. Coffee taste good though.

Eco friendly pods
Nice coffee, not too dark a roast - good crema, and like that they can just go in the compost (I use the council green bin at home as they heat treat it and don't mind bones, egg shells etc - wish we had the same at work). Sometimes the machine doesn't piece the corn starch pod the first time - it helps if you pre-warm the machine by running hot water through for a full cup - if you forget then putting it through a second time will also work. As Nick from the Foodies Larder says below - they are working on a better solution for packaging 2 tins together then the entire thing will be reusable or recyclable.

Simply don’t work
I’ve attempted to use almost a whole tin of these and so far just two have worked. The rest have made only a few drops of coffee and even with repeated flushing, a perfectly clean machine and pre-piercing they just don’t work. There are plenty of other brands of compostable pod that work perfectly every time such as Percol or Eden Project and they don’t come so excessively packaged either.

Delicious
Delicious rich coffee and love the fact that I can just throw the empty pod in my bin, knowing it will break down properly and not add to the massive waste problem. I also decided to taste test the coffee versus my preferred Nespresso capsules and the difference was amazing, especially against Lungo capsules which really a bit bitter. Not something I'd really noticed before. Will definitely buy again and am looking forward to trying the rest of the range.

Disappointing
I have not bought this flavour coffee before, but have bought other varieties from this brand and had no problems. However this batch will not work in our Nespresso machine so I now have 40 capsules which are useless and they are not cheap so it feels a complete waste, especially given that the whole point of choosing these over the Nespresso branded ones is to reduce waste. Has put me off buying anymore from this brand again
