Decent product but know what you need and what you're looking for before purchasing. Good value
My home office could definitely use some improvements. It's slowly gotten better as time has gone on but there are some things that still cause me issues and one was monitor set up. I don't have room for two "real" monitors so my laptop that I have hooked up to a docking station must double as the second monitor. Unfortunately, the position of it was absolutely terrible not only for the space it took from my desk but my laptop monitor is tiny compared to my primary massive monitor so jumping between the two was causing me all sorts of issues.I had been looking into various laptop stands for quite some time but there was always one thing or another that didn't work for me- adjustment was odd, weird tilts, took too much space, really expensive, etc. You get the idea. This one works very well for me. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles that others may have but it's a decent value for the money and is a solid piece. It worked pretty well for my needs. I don't need any tilt on mine, just a few inches of height and that's what this does and it is very stable for my laptop. The black metal frame also blends nicely into the rest of my equipment and looks very modern and clean. The metal frame is also perforated which also helps with airflow and keeping your equipment from overheating.Overall, I really like this item and it works very well for my needs. However, there are a few minor annoyances that I had to ding a star for. First, actually adjusting the height is awkward at best. It's mostly fine if you don't have anything on the stand but if you try to adjust while the laptop is on, it doesn't work out so well. Depending on your set up, it may or may not be a big deal to move the laptop around as you're adjusting. For me, it's a total pain. I'm also not a fan of the 4 "feet" or legs of the stand. If you're tight on space or have to put this near the corner of a desk possibly at an angle, it may not work or won't be very stable. I would have much preferred a flat base for a bit more versatility in positioning. For the price of many others I looked at ($70+) this does a good enough job and is a more economical option if you just need a simple stand. I will definitely continue using it as it's greatly improved the ergonomics of my setup and it feels like it will definitely last.

Sturdy; easy to adjust; works great for setting up my laptop as part of a dual monitor workstation
I just started a work from home job and am setting up an office, as opposed to a laptop on a desk which is what I had before. My laptop only has the one HDMI connection, so I can run one monitor to the side, but if I want dual monitors, then the laptop screen has to be one of them. This laptop stand stood out because it looked to have a short lowest setting to not add much height, and the footprint and ventilation under the laptop platform fit my workspace. Now that I have it, the laptop stand is sturdy and came as described. It seems pricey for something so small and simple (a significantly larger bamboo bookshelf is about the same price, a low end office chair is almost at the same price, and a plant stand which is basically a metal riser like this would be cheaper), but it came as described and it fits my space and got my setup much nicer than before. If the online description looks to fit your space well, then the actual item is good enough to live up to expectations. My setup: My laptop only has the one HDMI connection, so if I want dual monitors, then the laptop monitor has to be one of them. I wanted a stand to position the laptop screen convenient to the second monitor that I had connected. After connecting a keyboard and mouse, so that I didn't have to use controls on the laptop and it could function as just a screen, I wanted a laptop stand to both position the laptop screen and to get better airflow under the laptop in case of overheating during 8 hour workdays. And, my desk is 8 feet wide with a hutch and only 17 inches clearance under the hutch. So, I needed a laptop stand with a low height setting available, so that I could get the positioning good but still fit under the 17 inch hutch. This worked well to position the laptop and from using it for a week it feels like the ventilation in the platform that the laptop goes on does help (fan doesn't go crazy as often as with the laptop flat on the desk).Dimensions: This can be set at the following heights: 4.25 inches tall. 6 and 5/8 inches tall. 8 and 1/8 inches tall. And 9 inches tall. The footprint taken up by the four feet that touch the group are 15 and 1/4 inches by 9 and 3/8 inches. The metal platform that the laptop sits on is 15.5 inches by 9.25 inches. For the very tallest setting, the top platform is offset from the base by maybe an inch, so basically the top platform will be over the base. If you want to use a really high setting, though, then consider this as having a width to need 17 inches clearance side to side to fit in a space, and that will definitely cover any offset. Something to think about with this is that if you are running cords behind it, then that will push the whole thing out from the wall, because the base and the platform at top are just about the same depth front to back.Sturdiness and build quality: This is sturdy and level at all heights. It's easy to adjust and the parts lock into place well to where as long as it's holding weight and you aren't lifting it and moving it around while in use, nothing can come loose. The way to adjust it is super obvious. It doesn't come with instructions, you don't need instructions, and if you go to adjust this after a few years it will be easy to adjust. The material is solid metal with black paint. It's constructed very similar to a metal folding plant stand in terms of materials and how feels. The edges are all rounded and there aren't any sharp parts exposed. Each of the 4 feet has a bit of plastic stuck into the hollow end of the metal, so it won't scratch your desk.Price: The price is at a premium because laptop stands are a little of an unusual item. Right now, this is thirty five dollars. Like I said, it's built a bit like a metal folding plant stand and a plant stand would cost less. But also, when I looked at laptop stands, most of them were something like wedge shaped things that don't adjust. And also almost none appeared to have a very short lowest setting, which I definitely need in order to fit well under the hutch on my desk. I'm paying a premium to get something that isn't mass produced to the extent. Well, I only needed the one stand like this, and it makes my desk set up so much more functional, so if you are the kind of person who can visualize well, and this is the size and shape you are looking for, then you will get the value. I don't have any quality issues with the laptop stand.Overall, I got exactly what I thought I would get based on the Amazon product description. And the quality is fine. It's sturdy and easy to adjust. It makes my workspace much more harmonious and was a design I was looking for.) (I wanted a flat platform and not a wedge shaped riser, and I wanted adjustable.) If you measure everything and visualize your space, and have a plan for this, then the quality is fine and I think you will be pleased.

Functions OK but not the best
Opened the new unit out of the shipping box and placed it on three different flat surfaces and in each case the unit wobbled, so the frame is not true & straight & with the weight of a laptop and opened to higher height it may be a bit worseTried to raise the height of the top and was very hard to get opened. All the pivot points are too tightThere is 2 T-25 screws per side for pivot points and if loosened just a bit made it easier to fully adjust height, but there is also some pivot points that are riveted that are too tight.May get easier to adjust if opened & closed several timesMaybe using a bit of machine oil at those points will make it easier for some to adjust the height you want itCame with no instructions at all, so some buyers may have a problem at first how to adjust heights.Due to the product's low buying price should be OK for most users. The unit only lays flat horizontal, so if using it with a laptop, it would be harder to use the keyboard.Would be better if it also allowed to angle the top, so angle of keyboard would be easier to type onUpdate : further trying a way to use this found not a well-made productThe pivot points jam up, and you try to adjust shelve position and the support arms are too thin and jam and then bendOnce bent, the product is not useable

No tilt, clunky adjustment, heavy - and ugly to boot (pun intended)
I tilt my laptop keyboard about 10-15 degrees towards me. It makes typing more comfortable and less prone to strain by keeping my fingers within their mid-range of motion. (I play musical instruments and it's a concept I transferred from there)I could apply some height to the either the back legs or back top edge of this stand to get that tilt, but that gets awkward when I move my laptop around my (admittedly cluttered) desk. And what's the point when I can use a stand that tilts and satisfies in other ways.I've used footstools and other desktop stands that have this notched design to adjust height. They can be quirky but this one is downright awkward. The most comfortable way I found is to grasp the scissor sides and swing the top away from the notch. There are two rows of notches - the inside row allows for the lowest stand setting but, try as I might, I could not fit the bar into it without grabbing a pliers and risking bending or snapping off the notch edge.Looks and aesthetics are subjective of course but I prefer a sleek minimalist design that's light and unobtrusive. This thing screams, "Check out this massive stand (and the laptop that happens to be on it). Finally, it is heavy-duty - I will say that - this stand can handle the massive corporate Think Pads I've lugged around for years. But for my own use on my home cluttered desk - no thanks.

Sturdy with more height than other options
This laptop stand provides a nice flat surface so your laptop can sit just as it would on a desk. The top is well ventilated so your computer will have plenty of airflow on all sides. Multiple notches allow you to adjust the height from just barely off the desk to the full height. Compared to other stands this one will give you several more inches of height (see my photo). This stand doesn’t collapse like other stands though, so it’s definitely more of a leave on your desk option rather than something you could travel with.Since the stand uses the space under it for the supports you won’t be able to place anything underneath it, either while in use or for storing things. The downside here is that your laptop display may end up further away from you than you’d like since your external keyboard will have to sit in front of the stand. If you’re looking for a stand that can give you enough height to lift your display to a “normal” level or if you want to match the center of your laptop display to the center of an external display for dual display use then this is one of the better solutions that I’ve found (other than the tried and true stack of books).
