How to calculate the required amount of dye Dosage depends on the fat content, hardness and purity of candle mass. More dye is required for wax candles. To dye the entire base of paraffin weighing 1 lb, only 0.03-0.07 oz of dye is sufficient. For wax weighing the same, you need to add 0.04-0.1 oz. It is necessary to use about 0.17-0.3 oz of dye to dye the entire surface. 4. Dyeing of candles can be executed in two ways: Entire dyeing. Great stuff. Very impressed.
Superb quality dye. I used with soy wax, about a third of each sachet to colour 200g (200ml melted) and microwaving this amount in a plastic jug for 5 minutes. It turns out this is WAY too much and I now use the resulting coloured wax at 10% to 90% plain wax which works really well and gives a very similar colour! Only a 30th of each block needed therefore to make 2 small jar candles! If you use too much it will block the wick but I’m very happy with this dye!
