At first, I was tentative that this would be yet another cash-in on a deceased legend. But no, this boxset is superb!The DVDs are heartbreaking to watch - the shy, gamine, pretty girl evolves into a sweary, grossly-tatooed, over made-up world-weary crooner with a ridiculous beehive. But what a voice! What feeling! The bonus ball for me was the CD - it blows "Lioness" into the water! Amy was the spiritual (and temporal) heir(ess) of Sarah Vaughan and Bessie Smith. And the "Arena" DVD is so wonderfully sad - Amy is so humble, apologises for being late(!), discusses her plans for Christmas and expouses on her relatively recent passion for jazz, all thanks to her brother playing Ray Charles in the next bedroom!And thankfully, no distracting Mitch, Mark Ronson or assorted "partners" are filmed - just Amy and her fabulous musicians. A treat!

As much as Amy was a mess of a person she was an amazing artist. I'm a middle aged man who doesn't really enjoy or get into much current music but she was different. I am so happy I sent to the UK for this set. Over here we got the CD and the Dingle DVD which was great but the extra concert DVD and the Jools Holland tribute DVD were big bonuses and all will be watched over and over. This is timeless music by a timeless artist. I can recommend this collection without reservation to any fan. For non fans curious I would not start here.... but even that wouldn't be bad. A lot of music and just an exceptional talent.

Great value box set. Jules Holland tribute disc particularly good with a lot of Amy's Hootenany appearances with various other artists just showed what a great talent she was. Another disc shows her in concert when her troubles were obvious but she still put on a great show. The 3rd DVD shows her versatility and humility with a show in a small Irish hall with little or no band . CD has all her well known numbers and others done in a non commercial way and all the better for it. Worth every penny.

I always regretted that Amy only lived to make two official studio albums but this selection of live performances is a great addition. The sound quality is great and the performances are just special, often quite different from the studio versions. Also included a couple of standards with John Dankworth which reveal what a great jazz singer Amy was.
