Very acidic and sadly not for me
I really wanted to love this vegan tartare sauce as I love to support UK small businesses. When I opened the jar I was encouraged as I saw a lovely creamy texture with lots of bits in it - just the sort of tartare sauce I like.Unfortunately I was very disappointed at the taste. It tasted very very acidic and vinegary, and that taste overpowered any other taste for me. I couldn't taste the capers or gherkins at all, and I actually found it unpleasant to the point I had to scrape it all off my plate.I am not sure what the overriding taste is, but unfortunately this is not something I will want to accompany my salmon and I will continue with my current brand.

It's OK
More of a vinegar taste than expected but overall, I think the taste and texture was OK.

Not for me
I've been trying to eat healthier and am now mainly vegan.Used to love tartare sauce with fish, but not had any for a few years.Thought I'd give this a try and was very disappointed in the taste, the consistency is ok but it just has a bland taste with a slight aftertaste. Since I got the jar have only tried it once and it now sits in the fridge.By all means give it a try, everyone's taste is different after all. Just for me, it is not going to get used.

Well balanced taste
This is a well balanced tartar sauce that isn’t too vinegary or too sweet. I like the fact that it is vegan as there’s no eggy taste. You still get the rich creaminess of traditional tartar sauce. The jar contains 170g of product. Great with fish but it also makes a tasty spread on toasted sourdough or could be used as a dip for chips, battered mushrooms etcWould get it again!

Unexpected heat and vinegariness - a very strange taste...
I'd really looked forward to this as I just love the umami wonderfulness of tartare sauce. I'm vegetarian - not vegan - so I never eat fish which traditionally may be accompanied by tartare sauce but, although basically I'd consider tartare sauce with many dishes, I tend to have it with halloumi fingers or battered halloumi. So, with my halloumi, chips and mushy peas before me, I spooned out a dollop of Janda Vegan Tartare Sauce. Unfortunately, one taste was enough. I'm really sorry as this is a small business based in the UK but I thought this tasted dreadful - and not at all like the non-vegan tartare sauce I generally buy. There was a strange taste to this product which I found difficult to identify but I wondered whether it wasn't, at least in part, to do with the rapeseed oil. I don't know. I didn't find it tasted creamy - though the appearance very closely resembled non-vegan options and it did look creamy.Being honest, this was about the worst condiment I've ever tasted. The flavour was nothing close to a tartare sauce and the heat it also unexpectedly conveyed lingered for quite a time after I'd finished eating. It also tasted too vinegary to me.Sadly, I've nothing to compare this product to as I've never before tried a vegan tartare sauce. My partner gave this a go with his fish and chips but it also very much wasn't to his taste. As a periodic low carber, he took a good look at the ingredients prior to sampling and pronounced them 'better than expected'. We hate throwing food away but were in unison about not wanting to taste this tartare sauce again and regrettably it went in the bin.
