If you like black pepper, this is like a turbo version. Not just heat, but a more distinct flavor. I’ve used it in many things and it does well with meats, soups and veg. Kicked my beef jerky up a notch or two as well. It’s oddly shaped though - don’t put it in a regular pepper mill or you’ll be cranking all day and get nothing. Or that could just be my age. Enjoy.

I was lightly disappointed in the aromatics of the pepper. I have had this spice before, and this had a funky quality that I find almost unusable. I give it 3 stars because someone else might like the curing. I don't. I wish it had more of the bright flavor, and less of the stale funk.

Different than regular peppercorns. Try them, use sparingly. Game-changer.

We love spicy, but these aren't. We will never get these again; regular black pepper is so much better!

I ground these pods in mortar and pestle to a coarse grind before sprinkling into an eggplant stew. The peppers smell earthy, pungent, and fresh and added a bit of heat to the dish. There is a good amount in the package and these should last a long time. For 2 ounces, the price is on point.

While I've used ingredients that have long pepper in them, I've never used just long pepper. This was an interesting experience for me, I tried it out by just replacing regular black pepper to season a couple personal dishes. I read some reviews that mention difficulty with grinding so I snapped them in half before putting into a manual coffee grinder I use for peppercorns. While I need to learn what dishes it's better with, I enjoyed changing up my food with this.
