Bright and focused. Great value!
Very bright and focused beam. Even brighter than my 1500 lumen SureFire, and works great on a rifle since the beam is thrown so far.The drawbacks are that the attachment is in the middle of the light, and the switch is just an on/off switch (no momentary or strobe effect).Great light for the money though, since it is so bright and comes with the switch.

Holosun Raid
The light comes with everything you need right out of the box, including battery w/ charger, 1913 mount, M-LOK mount, and pressure switch.Pros: Output (1,000 lm / 80,000 cd) is really good and useable, the fit/finish feels nice and premium, crane plug with included switch feels sturdy, dual-fuel 18650 battery and CR123A compatible, and price ($169.99 on 3/17/25). The light is smaller than similarly priced Streamlight options.Neutral: Beam pattern. People are freaking out about the "rings of Saturn" beam effect that you see when you shine it a wall 10ft away. You won't notice at any distance you would need a rifle light for. Kind of weird, but not a big deal. It's made in China by a government owned company that manufactures and supplies products to the PLA. It is what it is.Cons: The multifunction button sequence is annoying. Tap and release for constant on and hold for momentary, but any press and release within like 1/2 of a second will activate constant on. Two quick taps will put it into low mode which is annoying and not useful. Three taps for lockout, which is actually useful to prevent white light NDs. The Holosun branding is tacky and I wish they would do subdued logos.-1 star for button sequences that can't be disabled, and bold logo. Otherwise a great light that I'm enjoying using so far.

Impressive throw (high candela) with weird "rings of Saturn" effect and no strobe
I like that the Holosun RAID comes with an 18650 USB C rechargeable battery (included) and that it also can use a regular 18650 or two CR123's (not included). I like that it comes with both M-Lock and Picatinny mounts. I like that the cable switch uses a Crane plug. I don't like the "rings of Saturn" effect of the beam. It is quite noticeable and distracting, especially at close range. The brightness (lumens) does not seem particularly impressive at first, but the light does have impressive throw (candela) for its size. I like that it has only two brightness levels. I don't like that it cannot do strobe. I don't particularly care for the octagonal design of the light body and head, compared to the more common round design, but I suppose that does not affect function. The light is fairly easy to mount and use. I think the Holosun RAID is a reasonable value for the money.
