Beefy, Stainless Steel, Wrong Size
This is a revision. I ordered 1/4" NPT and received 1/4" NPT. My fault for thinking they were a size bigger. Now I don't know what fitting I need as I was told the fitting was 1/4" NPT coupling. These appear to be well made, and are beefy like they are pictured. They also appear to be stainless steel (non-magnetic). Returned for a refund -- my fault.

good substitute for 1-1/2 inch jam nut
Had to replace a broken "jam nut" securing a popup seal under the kitchen sink and couldn't find the exact replacement part anywhere. Took a chance and dropped $12 on this stainless steel locknut. It's slightly oversized such that it rocks a bit when threaded on the pipe, but with a few wraps of teflon tape it fit securely and withstood some hard tightening before I finally realized I also needed to redo the drain seal inside the sink to stop the leak. Happy with my purchase.

They fit
If you are trying to mount water heater elements to a square bucket for electroplating or anodizing these nuts work. They are the only nuts I have found that work. The threads are 11.5 per inch and are not pipe threads. This is what you are looking for.
