A realistic Reacher.
A very enjoyable watch. An actor who looked as Reacher should. The only fault, the fight scenes followed the silly Hollywood requirement that many "knock out" blows had to be completed before a conclusion. The character of Reacher has one wonderful talent. He puts the bad guy down with one blow, vital when being attacked by several men at one go. This silly fault apart a wonderful depiction of a Hero in the tradition of the one good man putting evil down.

REACHER SEASON ONE DVD
It must have taken much discussion at the producer's conference...To allow approx 8 hours for the adaption of Child's novel "Killing Floor". It just about works (and would have helped some Stephen King screenplays), but I did feel after a an almost binge watch that maybe 6 eps would have been better. Why? Mainly because if you want blood and thunder - you get it in spades every episode. Huge fight scenes - very violent (some violence is very explicit, but most is almost comic book ie our hero doesn't get hurt!). A lot of "F" words. The violence isn't confined to fight scenes, some murders are very gruesome. What holds it together is A) A stonking good plot, and B) Alan Ritchson as Reacher - the role he must have been born to play. Support cast is excellent though I have slight misgivings about the casting of Willa Fitzerald, good as she is, But that may just be me. Of course it is a serial in as much as you can't miss an episode, but it is so well done that my wife and I (we generally don't go for ulta violence) watched 2 eps a night. Violent - very- Adults only? Definitley in my opinion - yet there is no cerificate - I would say minimum 15 - should be 18. Season 2, another novel? A must for us. Recomended with the above reservations. Good subtitles and 30 mins of extras.

Jack Reacher to a T!
This absolutely brilliant remake totally eclipses the Tom Cruise movies, much as I admire and love Cruise.Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher (no middle name) just like you read about in the books by Lee Child and I was instantly hooked by the superb pace, the dialogue and the terrific cast of actors who played alongside Ritchson, especially Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe and Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Finlay. Maria Sten is also great as Neagley who worked for Reacher when he was an MP in the US Army.Season 1 is based on Killing Floor, the first book introducing Reacher who decides on a whim to visit Margrave in search of an old blues singer called Blind Blake which his brother Joe mentioned to him in passing.Reacher steps off the bus and walks into a diner to have a coffee and "the best peach pie in Georgia" when the police arrive and arrest him on suspicion of homicide. The murdered man turns out to be his brother Joe who went to Margrave to try and uncover what he suspected was a counterfeiting operation. From then on you're on a rollercoaster of twists and turns. Scenes of violence abound, tremendous breath-taking fights and edge of your seat revelations as Reacher untangles the morass of lies and secrets Margrave is buried in.I understand series 2 is due out in December, just in time for Christmas. I can't wait.
