Worth every penny vs the cheap cordless on amazon
Game changer vs the $30-$40 ones on Amazon. I wish I went with this sooner. I was washing my dogs the day before and letting them dry, my cheap clippers wouldn't easily cut. So I got a blow dryer which made barely an improvement. Then I got a real set of clippers and I mowed through my doodle shaggy winter coat easy as can be. The clippers make the difference and is what you are needing if you are trying to decide.

Best clippers I ever used.
I've used other clippers and it always took me over an hour to clip my miniature poodle. With the Andie's I had did a complete groom in less then 30 minutes. I've only used them once, so will update my review with future trimmings.

good for thick fur
I love these clippers! I have bought 5-6 different brands/ types. I wish I had bought these first. they cut through the thick, matted Ausie doddle fur. They did get a little warm, but not hot. I let them cool and the dog rest. He had not been cut all winter due to being outside, I did to want him to get cold. I was a bug task but the clippers cut without pulling.

Not impressed
Not sure if it was used or what. Over 2 hours to clip 1 leg. We purchased the guards no improvement with or without the guards. Tried a different dog, different hair type it just leaves little hair shards everywhere but doesn’t remove the hair to the blade length. Gets very hot poor dog I wouldn’t want that near my skin don’t blame dog for not wanting to be cut with it either will be returning. Prior owned cheap clippers did the job in 45 min.

Yes and No
I also have a Wahl, actually 2 Wahl (black and Orange). I wanted to upgrade because doing so many grooms. I prefer the shape of the Andis but can't say it was worth the difference in price. They work about the same. The interchangeability of clipper blades and clip-ons largely depends on design compatibility, which encompasses factors such as size, fitting mechanisms, and construction materials. In my case both are same so no added expense there.

Dog clippers
Great dog trimmer, great quality.

Great Doodle clippers.
Expensive, but it’s one of those times when you get what you pay for. We bought several standard Wahl pet clippers that would not work on our Doodles. These work great after a bath and thorough brushing.

Smooth quiet operation. Blade change-out mechanism can jam
There is a design feature that causes certain blades to jam so that the removal lever (that is supposed to be up so you can push it down) gets stuck down. This is a difficult issue to describe. The clipper worked great - quiet and powerful, until the second blade change out. See attached photo showing the 5/8" blade installed with the pop lever down. It should be up so you can push it and eject the blade. Frozen in place. Had to return the clipper with the blade in it. Big hassle
