Facts to Know:Prior experience: This product was manufactured under the brand name Lac-Hydrin and was recommended by a dermatologist over 20 years ago as an over the counter treatment for face and body.Effectiveness: After water, the second ingredient is ammonium lactate, an alpha hydroxy acid which is proven to improve softness and clarity of the skin on your face and body. Exfoliating your skin opens up the pores to increase absorption of moisturizers. Grade AValue: The lotion purchased after Christmas costs approximately $12.00 for 7.9 oz. and used twice a day mainly on my face and paired with an exfoliating cleaner to increase cellular turnover. Grade A+Advertised: The product is advertised to improve texture and brightness of your skin. To clarify, improve brightness means to reduce the appearance of age or dark spots. This is not a skin lightening agent. A concentration of 7% of a lactic acid effectively improves skin texture and the lightweight consistency did not clog pores which may happen with some oils. Grade AComparison: Lactic acid, in the form of ammonium lactate, is the second active ingredient in the lotion and means there is enough to effectively smooth texture and increase cellular turnover. You will find some skincare products with less than 7% alpha hydroxy acid at a higher price and a smaller container. I'm not naming names here. Best lotion ever and highly recommended by my Dermatologist. Works good for dry feet too

Nice lotion that goes on smooth and a little goes a long way and didn't really have any fragrance which is actually better for you. After using for a month, I didn't notice any improvement in dry skin or that it worked any better then the regular body lotions I purchase. Possibly the Vitamin C and Lactic Acid content is too low to make a difference. I may or may not purchase again.

Horrible smell but it works

I brought this thinking it will help with my hyperpigmentation and hydrate my skin but all it did was cause a rash all over my arms. Now my arms are all itchy all over. Gonna have to a medical professional to help me with the itchiness. So disappointing :(
