Great Coverage and Shine After Henna Treatment
I’ve used this indigo powder after my henna treatments several times and it performs exactly as expected. It provides a rich, natural color and excellent coverage without the use of harsh chemicals. I usually blend it with 1 tbsp of salt to help the indigo and coffee (instead of water) to deepen the color. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a natural, effective way to color your hair while maintaining its health. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and will definitely continue using it.

The best powder in the world hands down for dying your hair without using any chemicals whatsoever, including no PPD or PTD.
The best kept secret on the Internet for turning my hair black without causing ANY allergic reaction. Chemicals like PPD and PTD were in very single box of any hair color across every place I could find in every store possible. I even tried Henna products, herbal products, you name it. Nothing came close to what this did to turn my grey's black.Steps Taken:1) Use Henna from an Indian store, put it into a container, mixed a little bit of apple cider vinegar into it, maybe 1 part vinegar to 7 parts water, mix it into the Henna until it turns into a paste (Like how a thick pudding would be). Cover the lid, leave it overnight for 12 to 14 hours. Check in 12-14 hours and see if the color has changed on top layer to indicate dye release (basically when you use a spoon after 12-14 hours to check it, you should see the color inside or underneath is slightly brighter than the layer formed on top). Once dye release confirmed, put it all over your hair and let it dry on for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This turns your hair orange. You will freak out. It might even be brown.2) Take a shower, get all that out. Then clean the same container or use a different container (make sure all containers are glass) and just use Indigo mixed with water. Turn it into a pudding consistency, then quickly apply it to your hair. Again leave it on your hair for 2 hours. Wait until it has basically dried out, then take a shower.3) Voila! Your hair will be green! Don't freak out. This is where the magic happens. Wait another 24 hours. I repeat, wait an additional 24 hours after you have applied the Indigo. For some reason, even though some of my hair was green instead of black, after 24 hours, it all turned black. So yes, just be patient. This stuff is legit.(Coming from a guy who had allergic reactions to all other products so bad, like itching and skin peeling and skin burning/flaking off. )

Real henna (lawsonia inermis) treatment and then using indigo = black hair dye for someone who is allergic to PPD
We used this after a henna treatment to color hair black. It works great! My daughter was using "chemical" hair dye which didn't have PPD (or any of its many alternate names listed) on the box, but after the second treatment, her ears, sides of her face and eyelids were badly swollen. I was shocked, since I thought something else in it must have been the cause. After hours of searching, we found that the ingredients did include PPD, but manufacturers aren't required to list it. Even a hairdresser who offered an alternative coloring said that what they use in their salon doesn't contain PPD, but we searched online for information on the product and found that it does, as well.Using henna and then indigo has worked great! It blended in with the already black hair, and we've done many treatments with no problems/reactions. This has allowed her to keep having the hair color she wanted without risking her looks (people have lost hair and been scarred from reactions), health or life. I think PPD is horrible and should be banned; I don't understand why AT LEAST they aren't required to put an obvious warning label on the box. They don't even have to list it though. I just read it's also in some eye liners and other cosmetics; that explains why she's been getting swollen eyelids, I imagine. It's daft a consumer should have to do hours of research to see when awful chemicals like this are in everyday beauty products.

Good product, chemical free and easy to use. Very strong smell.
I have been using this product for years now and love the fact there there are no dangerous chemicals in it that would damage or dry my hair. It's also much cheaper than buying a regular hair color from the pharmacy. It is effective at covering stubbornly gray hair. It does take a bit of playing with to get the right color - it's easy to make your hair too red/orange. As other reviewers have said, the smell is very pungent to the point it is overwhelming, but I can get past that if it means I don't have to use damaging chemicals on my hair. I have tried different brands and this one has a great price point so I'll stick with reordering this one.

didn't work
I've been using Henna and indigo on my hair for a decade. I've purchased from the henna guys for many years and never had an issue. However, I just used this indigo power using the same method I've successfully used in the past and it didn't work at all. I noticed it didn't seem to develop the same and I left it on an extra hour and nothing happened. I don't know if I got a bad batch or if they changed the way they process the powders but this one was about as effective of sitting with dirt on my head for four hours. A hassle without anything to show for it.

Great Indigo powder.
I love this product. I mixed it with henna and cassia. First I mixxed the henna and cassia with cold filter water and ACV. Left in a dark place the mix cover to release for about 14 hours . Then I mixed separated the indigo with room temperture chamomile and red tea sipped overnight . Righ after I mixed the henna already released with the indigo mixture. I applied and left on my head for abou 90 minutes . No mess at all, no stains on my face. Washed out with cold filter water. ( I have a filter shower) . No shampoo no conditioner just rinse with ACV mixed with water., argan oil on the ends. My hair looks beautiful and very soft. For sure I will buy this product again. The only thing the company needs to fix.. the instructions are for henna no for indigo. I didn't have problem because I have red a lot about henna and other natural plants for the hair.i hope this help other people looking for natural hair dye.
